The states began "Operation Robocall Roundup" by sending warning letters to 37 different voice providers demanding “immediate action” to prevent robocalls from being routed through their networks. And just for fun, the attorneys action letters opened with “Congratulations! You may have already been sued.”
This week was one for the history books as Jen Pawol, a 48-year-old former college softball player became the first woman in nearly 150 years of Major League Baseball history to umpire a regular season game — Allowing women to umpire Major League games is a smart move by MLB that will almost certainly make the games faster as managers begin to realize there’s no point in arguing.

New Home Comes with Small Closet Under Basement Stairs for Husband’s Things
It’s not often that you get everything on your list, but local couple Craig and Dianne Rose got just that, and then some, when a charming 1,850 sq ft home on a quiet tree-lined street recently hit the market.
188 Beechwood St. boasts a recently renovated kitchen with granite countertops and a farm sink (a must-have for Dianne), hardwood flooring, a primary bedroom with walk-in closets and a dual vanity ensuite bathroom, a fenced backyard for entertaining, and to top it all off, a small closet under the basement stairs for Craig to store his things.
“When our realtor, Lori, first told us about it, I honestly didn’t believe her,” said Craig. “We had seen twenty or so houses prior, and sure, they had vaulted ceilings, brick fireplaces, and generous outdoor space, not to mention prime location in a great school district, but not one had a designated space for me to put my stuff. So, when we saw 188 Beechwood, we knew we had to put an offer in that day or risk someone snapping it up.”
The 3-by-4-foot space, which Craig calls “the bat cave” and is accessible only by crawling on hands and knees, features slanted walls that prevent standing upright and a single bare lightbulb operated by a pull chain. “I’m in heaven,” said Craig, stacking his milk crate of vinyls he bought in college on a box of his childhood Topps trading cards, collector's edition comics, and a rolled-up signed Black Keys poster.
“I’m happy that we could get this for him,” said Dianne while flipping through the Pottery Barn Fall 25 catalogue. “I think it’s important everyone has their own space, and honestly, the water damage isn’t that bad. OH look! The Baylor Pleated Shade 10” Sconce, Antique Bronze — LOVE!”
As this issue goes to print, Craig was seen opening the door to the bat cave. Washed in the blue light of his Sylvania 10-inch flip screen TV, telling long-time friends, “Gentlemen, prepare to have your minds blown.”
